There Goes the Neighborhood
The end came quickly as rain fell in unrelenting sheets. Only those lucky enough to have boats and quick enough to use them had a chance, but few found anything left above ground.
Martin Puck had a canoe in his garage. As the water threatened, he climbed into it and left. Three days later, he spotted the castle and thanked God.
Approaching the mansion, he feared its owner would refuse him admittance. At the same time, he hoped he wasn’t alone.
Near the doorbell, a plate identified the home’s owner as Drake Koolah.
As the door swung open, Martin screamed.
